A Day at Paramount's Log Mill

One of the things that both Kelly and I were very curious about was how the logs were milled. Ray and Jody run a tight ship. Kelly said that it was like poetry motion. They really have a system down. The raw logs are actually square milled timbers called "Cants". The finished product is just the heart of the cant. Each log is milled twice. Once for shape, the second time for length and for the log pockets. Ray must be tough as nails cause these babies are heavy. He has to move each one twice!!
