Insulating the Great Room

I think I mentioned earlier here that I'm alergic to insulation. Kelly must have taken that to heart cause I haven't had to touch the stuff. Between her, Kelsey, and Butch, they knocked out the rest of the big room in about a day. I wish I could have got a picture of the three of them throwing that stuff around.

What a difference it makes. The house is quiet, warm, and for some reason looks larger inside than ever before.

Skylights

Skylights sound so simple....framing and trimming them is not. Butch and I pulled out a lot of hair getting them right but here's a few pictures. We trimmed them out with the cedar T&G siding material. Makes for a nice touch.

Plumbing and HVAC

Misc pictures of more work in progress. White Heating and Cooling is doing the HVAC. Nick is the tinner and he does great work. John Easly did the line set for the air conditioning and is also a top-notch guy. I'm stuck with the plumbing but the mana-block and pex tubing is really easy. Seems to go together almost too easy.

Upstairs framing and insulating

Kelly and I took a much needed vacation and as you might imagine, we have fell behind with updates. Lots has happened. I'll do my best to post a few pictures.

Here are a few of the upstairs bedroom walls and insulation on that side of the house. Also included are a few of us framing in the wood stove's chimney chase.
