More Progress--Roof and Soffit

The roof is sheeted and the steel roofing is ordered. Tim and Jason knocked out the Soffit and fascia too. Should be setting windows tomorrow (Monday). Lots of progress this last week.

The view from inside. It's strange how putting a roof on it makes it seem bigger inside. I think you could play football in the great room.

And the view from the master bathroom window. What a beautifull day it was.

Trusses are done

The whole family has been sick for the last few days so it was a relief to be feeling well enough to head out to the land. Needless to say, lots has been done since I was there last. I quickly found out that I was far from healthy once I got out in the cold and started moving around. I spent more time in the truck with the heater on than I did getting things done, but I got pictures and I got to see the place. Jason and Tim have been getting after it.

Jason trimming the gable.

View of the master bedroom and master bathroom.

And a sunset that is very fitting for the day. This shot was taken out of the master bath window, right where the jacuzi tub will sit.

More roof details

Up close shots of the trusses over the girls's rooms.

On with the roof

Once again, Thanks to our Neighbor, David, for the pictures. These will make one heck of a slideshow when we are done.

The gables are done, now going on with the Trusses. Jason and Tim, ever modest, said "we might set a truss or two, we'll see what we have time for". Not only did they set all of the trusses on the one end, the managed to sheet half of that. Quite the crew.

Ohh Well

Dick from Bertram drilling showed up and started drilling our well last week. By the end of the first day he was down to almost 400' and the well was producing only a quart/minute. By Friday we were down to 613' and had almost 3 gallons a minute which is double what you need to feed a cistern. Almost double the budget (OUCH!!) but we aint hauling water.

And here's the proof. About 2 gallons a minute in this picture.

Gables

Basement Framing

While Tim and Jason were finishing up the gables, we were downstairs framing the utility room and bathroom. Lots of help from Vince, Kelly, and Noel's home cooking made the chore seem easy.
